Ghostly Holograms Join S.C. Landmark Attraction!
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Ghosts and Legends Theatre has a new look. A new 'look as if you've seen a ghost', to be exact. For the past six months, designers have developed a cutting edge method for making their ghost performers 'materialize' in front of Myrtle Beach audiences' eyes like never before. 'Not only can you witness objects and voices floating throughout the room, but now guests have a face to face encounter with the famous spirits', says marketing assistant, Hal Raygun.

Entering its fourth year, Ghosts and Legends Theatre features Low Country storytelling in a most creative way. Guests enter through a secret wall panel, into a beautiful antebellum plantation parlor complete with authentic antique furnishings. Once seated, the lights dim, the music swells and the entire room comes to life with spirits and stories from South Carolina's past. But the ghosts have never seemed more life-like, until now.

Incorporating a proprietary system called 'Holoscrim™', developed solely for the Ghosts and Legends Theatre, guests meet the well-known local spirit, Alice Flagg of the Hermitage, who still haunts the Grand Strand. The fearsome pirate Blackbeard also makes a stunning impression, boasting of his days at sea along the Carolina coast.

'Since we developed and own the rights to this ground breaking 'Holoscrim™' system, our theatre at Barefoot Landing is the only place in the world where visitors can witness this special brand of theatre magic,' notes proprietor, Oliver Holler. Ghostly figures seem to appear in a transparent haze, floating in mid air and viewers can literally see right through them! The apparitions appear, gesture and speak, imparting their tales, then disappear from sight again to open a treasure chest or scramble through a keyhole!

'We're excited to offer this new dimension in entertainment to Myrtle Beach visitors and our hope is that the presentation at Ghosts and Legends Theatre will increase travel to South Carolina for something that can't be found anywhere else. We want to spark the imagination and share our state's colorful past,' says Holler, a Carolina native. 'Of course', he continues, 'we don't mind giving folks a spooky good time too!'

Performances are presented daily, year 'round. Ticket prices are $8.95 and $6.95 for children 4-12. Ages 3 and under are free. School and other group rates are available.
