During the month of October, Ghosts and Legends Theatre is raising funds in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
'Pumpkins for Parkinson's' joins the appeal of a holiday photo spot with the easy opportunity for guests to make a difference. Hundreds of families have gathered to the 'Incredible Pumpkin Patch' at Barefoot Landing since September 1st, and the 'Pumpkins for Parkinson's' effort suggests 'Take a Photo and Leave Hope.' Organizers hope to raise $500.00 by October 31, at which time the pumpkins disappear until next year. To date, over $250 has been collected, 100% of which will be donated to the Fox Foundation. Donations can be made in person, or by logging on to Ghosts and Legends Theatre's website.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's disease. More than six million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease today. To date, The Foundation has funded more than $95 million in research and continues to make a significant impact in the treatment of PD.
